Aims & Scope

Studia Historiae Oeconomicae (SHO) is a refereed journal published two times a year. The journal is addressed to historians (particularly economic historians), economists, sociologists and social scientists who are interested in economic life in social and cultural contexts, both from theoretical and empirical points of view. The general objective of the journal is to be open to the results of research on both past and contemporary social and economic phenomena, mainly from a historical, economic and sociological point of view. In the era of progressive specialization of scientific research, the SHO has consistently been promoting the idea of the interdisciplinary character of research on economic history since its funding. For this reason, the SHO provides a platform that brings together socio-economic historians from various faculties, including economics, social sciences, humanities and history. The SHO sites serve as a forum for scholars from around the world, particularly those with an interest in the history of Central and Eastern Europe, to present their research and exchange ideas and engage in discussions on socio-economic history.
