Aims & Scope
Utrecht Journal of International and European Law is a diamond open access, double-blind peer-reviewed, student-led law journal affiliated with Utrecht University. Founded in 1981, the Journal aims to contribute to legal scholarship on international and European law by promoting these fields' progressive development and providing an international forum for interaction between academia, practitioners and students. On a yearly basis, the Utrecht Journal of International and European Law publishes one or two general issues. The Journal is occasionally publishing additional special issues devoted to a specific theme chosen by the Board of Editors. The Journal of fully managed and edited by students. Following a review by the Board of Editors, an article if referred to a double-blind peer-review by experts in the relevant field. The Journal was founded in 1981 as Merkourios within Urios, the study association for international and European law of Utrecht University. Since then, the Journal has expanded its readership significantly . In 2013, the Journal’s name was changed to its current form. Today, the Utrecht Journal of International and European Law is distributed all over the world via www.utrechtjournal.org and through online databases such as HeinOnline and the Directory of Open Access Journals.
