Aims & Scope

Orð og tunga is a peer-reviewed journal published annually by the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies. It publishes scholarly articles, in Icelandic and English, related to language and linguistics. Special emphasis is placed on articles concerning lexicology, lexicography, onomastics, terminology, and language cultivation. The articles are peer-reviewed by at least two anonymous experts in addition to the editor. In addition to scholarly articles, a section of the journal is dedicated to book reviews, short articles, and language news.
