Interchange is an international journal for the dissemination of high-quality research, theory, and practice in education, with a particular focus on leadership, policy, change, curriculum, and pedagogy across K–12 schools and higher education contexts. It seeks to foster dialogue that informs both scholarship and practice in global settings. The journal welcomes empirical studies, theoretical contributions, policy analyses, and practice-oriented research that address the multi-level drivers of educational change. We are particularly interested in manuscripts that explore the following areas: Educational leadership : advancing organizational change through leadership practices that shape educational conditions for improving student outcomes, academic excellence, and institutional innovation. Educational policy and reform : driving education change through policy design, implementation, and evaluation that influence governance, accountability, internationalisation, equity, and quality. Educational change and innovation : understanding the complexity of organizational change and innovation in evolving contexts. Curriculum development, design, and assessment innovations : enabling instructional change through reforms and innovations that redefine teaching, learning, and evaluation. Pedagogy and instructional practices : fostering classroom-level change through philosophical approaches, scholarship of teaching and learning, and concrete teaching and learning strategies, with attention to digital and inclusive contexts. Foundations and interdisciplinary studies of education : examining the historical, philosophical, sociological, organizational, and psychological foundations of education, exploring how these core disciplines shape educational theory, policy, and practice. The journal strongly values methodological diversity, encouraging submissions that employ quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and innovative research designs . It welcomes scale development and validation studies that advance new tools and measurement frameworks, as well as systematic reviews, meta-analyses, bibliometric studies, and content analyses that synthesize evidence and identify directions for future research and practice. What distinguishes this journal is its emphasis on the intersection of leadership, policy, curriculum, and pedagogy as levers of educational change. It is committed to comparative and cross-cultural studies from a global view. The journal offers a distinctive platform that connects research, policy, and practice to address pressing educational challenges worldwide, such as artificial intelligence.
