Aims & Scope

Historia Scribere is an online journal of the Institutes for Ancient History and Near Eastern Studies, Historical and Empirical Cultural Studies, and Contemporary History at the University of Innsbruck for the publication of student work. The contributions in the journal come from students of these subjects and were created as part of courses within the study plans of the History degree program. The name "History" & "Writing", derived from Latin, is thus also the program: historia.scribere aims to offer students of all historical subjects at the University of Innsbruck a platform to make the work they have written during their studies accessible to a wider readership. Works from various types of courses can be submitted, which were assessed with "very good" (1) or "good/very good" (2/1) by the course instructors or dissertation supervisors. The submitted works are reviewed using a double-blind peer-review process before they are accepted for publication. Only original contributions are published.
