Aims & Scope

Selcuk Medical Journal (Selcuk Med J) (ISSN: 1017-6616, e-ISSN: 2149-8059) is an academic, independent, peer-reviewed, open access publication of Necmettin Erbakan University. It is a scholarly journal that adresseses to a wide range of readers, including doctors, researchers and academics. It publishes the papers from all disciplines of medical sciences from all over the world. The journal aims to ensure that current developments in diagnosis and treatment, surgical innovations and clinical and experimental studies that will contribute to the medical science are published in national and international literature. The journal is published quarterly in March, June, September and December. Selcuk Medical Journal publishes original research articles, editorials, short reports, clinical case reports, technical and educational reviews, original visual reports, the latest developments in medical science and academic studies, and letters to editor. The journal also publishes the reader questions and contributions on previously published articles and experimental studies. Manuscripts should contain original data that have not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. All publications should have ethics committee approval. This approval must be documented. The journal complies with the ‘Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing’ (doaj.org/bestpractice). Publications that are in line with the journal's submission guidelines and scope are sent to reviewers who are experts in their field for scientific evaluation. The main decision is made after at least two reviewer evaluations. Associate editors add their own assessments of questionable publications, taking into account the comments of the reviewers. The editor-in-chief makes the final decision for all publications. The journal aims to complete all editorial and board processes within twelve weeks . However, this period may be extended due to unforeseen delays. The Editorial Board of Selcuk Medical Journal is committed to following the criteria of International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), Council of Science Editors (CSE), European Association of Science Editors (EASE) ve Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and National Information Standards Organization (NISO) in the publication process. The full text of the articles is published in English. The readership of the journal includes professionals, specialists, researchers, postgraduate students and learners in all medical sciences. The journal aims to contribute to professional development and the culture of research.
