Journal of Jazz Studies
Rutgers University Libraries · United States · Est. 1973
Aims & Scope
Journal of Jazz Studies (JJS) is dedicated to publishing leading-edge research on jazz, broadly defined, from a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives, including but not limited to musicology, ethnomusicology, history, cultural studies, music theory, technical analysis, biography, oral history, and criticism. JJS welcomes submissions from performers and independent scholars as well as affiliated scholars. Articles should be comprehensible and accessible to a broad, musically literate jazz audience, not just to other specialists within the writer’s sub-field.
