Mediapolis
Coimbra University Press · Portugal
Aims & Scope
Mediapolis – Revista de Comunicação, Jornalismo e Espaço Público is a scientific publication, with semi-annual periodicity, published by Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra. It accepts original and unpublished works, of individual or collective authorship, in the form of articles, essays and reviews, written in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish. Articles and essays will be subject to double peer review and approval, anonymously. The journal has three sections: Dossier, Essays and Reviews, organized according to the norms described below. The "Dossier" section publishes scientific articles related to the theme of the call for papers. The author must indicate, at the time of submission, the call to which the text is submitted. Articles must have the usual structure of scientific works: introduction to the theme, theoretical and methodological discussion, results, conclusions and bibliographic references. The submission of articles must respect the deadlines and thematic scope of the calls for papers periodically disseminated on the journal's website. Articles should not exceed 40,000 characters (with spaces), including title/subtitle, abstracts, keywords, footnotes and bibliographic references. It is advised that articles have a maximum of 4 authors. The dossiers of each issue will be thematic and coordinated by guest editors. The "Essay" section publishes essays of free theme, as long as they focus on the problematization of phenomena and critical issues of the universe of communication and media in their different interfaces. Essays do not need to be thematically related to current calls for papers. They can be submitted on a continuous flow. They should not exceed 20,000 characters (with spaces), including title, abstracts, keywords, footnotes and bibliographic references. The coordination of the "Essays" section will be the responsibility of the Editorial Board. The "Reviews" section publishes critical reviews of works on Communication, Media and Journalism, provided they were published in the last three years. They can be submitted on a continuous flow. Reviews should not exceed 8,000 characters (with spaces), including footnotes and bibliographic references. The coordination of the "Reviews" section and the evaluation of submitted reviews will be the responsibility of the Editorial Board.
