Aims & Scope

Create a scientific and research database on arid regions of Iran. The Journal of Geographical Studies on Arid Regions aspires to become a leading academic platform in the field of analysis, policy-making, and future-oriented research related to arid and semi-arid zones in Iran and beyond. It aims to provide an integrated, interdisciplinary, and policy-relevant forum for the exchange of innovative ideas, empirical findings, and theoretical advancements in understanding the complex dynamics of dryland geographies. By leveraging the insights of geographical sciences and related disciplines, the journal endeavors to play a meaningful role in promoting sustainable, locally-informed, and resilient development strategies for fragile and vulnerable dryland environments.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
