Contemporary Agriculture is the official journal of the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Agriculture, Serbia. Established in 1953, the journal has been a key publication in the field of agricultural science. Initially published under the name Poljoprivreda Vojvodine (1953β1959), it was later known as Savremena poljoprivreda (1959β2015) before adopting its current title, Contemporary Agriculture, in 2016. Contemporary Agriculture is owned, published and financially supported by the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Agriculture. The journal Contemporary Agriculture is an open access scholarly journal dedicated to the dissemination and exchange of knowledge about the progress of research in all areas of theoretical and applied agricultural science, covering a wide range of agricultural topics: Agronomy and Plant Science (Field and Vegetable Crops, Fruit-growing, Viticulture, Horticulture, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Agroforestry, Plant Protection, Integrated Pest and Disease Management, Weeds, Invasive species, Plant Nutrition, Genetics and Breeding, Agroecology, Regenerative Agriculture, Organic Agriculture, Post-harvest) Animal Science (Animal Husbandry, Poultry and Fish Production, Animal Breeding, Animal Genetics, Animal Nutrition, Aquaculture, Hunting, Fisheries, Wildlife) Veterinary Medicine (Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases, Disorders and Injuries in Animals, Animal Inspection) Agricultural Engineering (Agricultural Machinery, Remote Sensing, Precision Agriculture, GIS, Renewable Energy and Biosystems) Soil Science (Agrochemistry, Soil Microbiology, Soil Fertility, Land Management) Water and Irrigation Management (Water Quality, Irrigation, Water Use and Availability) Agricultural Economics and Rural Development (Farm Management, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Policy, Rural Communities and Development, Biometrics in Agriculture) Environmental and Ecological Studies (Climate Change and Agriculture, Agro-meteorology) Landscape Architecture (Planning, Designing, Conservation and Management). The journal publishes research articles, reviews, short communications and case reports. It is open to all researchers globally, regardless of gender, career stage or ethnic and religious affiliation. As of 2026, the journal publishes one volume with two issues per year. All papers are published in English and are subject to a double-blind peer review process (with at least two independent reviewers) to maintain high academic standards. Editorial operations related to content and peer review are independent and free from the influence of the entities that support the journal.
