Aims & Scope
MICS serves as an interdisciplinary platform that brings together scholars of the city from a wide range of disciplines, including history, sociology, anthropology, cultural studies, architecture, and urban planning. The journal is committed to advancing urban studies in Ukraine and integrating them into the international academic landscape. Mission and Focus We aim to: develop and institutionalize urban studies in Ukraine; build an international network of researchers working on urban topics; create a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue on the city as a complex historical, cultural, and social phenomenon. Aims The journal’s primary aim is to advance urban studies in Ukraine as an independent field of research, to integrate it into the international academic context, and to provide a platform for collaboration among scholars from different disciplines. Objectives The journal pursues the following objectives: to publish high-quality original research that expands knowledge about the city; to contribute to the development of a Ukrainian school of urban studies and its engagement with the global academic community; to provide an open, transparent, and non-commercial platform for the dissemination of scholarly research.
