Journal of Participatory Research Methods
Specialty Publications · United States
Aims & Scope
The Journal of Participatory Research Methods publishes articles on every stage of participatory research but our focus is on the methods, techniques and processes involved in conducting the research rather than on the findings and outcomes of the work. The journal publishes scholarly articles about methods, how-to guides for group work, participatory data collection and analysis techniques and narrative reports of the techniques and processes involved in participatory research. We typically do not publish traditional research reports unless they are evaluating or testing participatory methods. It is the goal of JPRM to provide a source for methodologocal guidance, innovative techniques, creative methods and best practices for researchers, scholars and practitioners who engage in participatory or community-engaged work. Our readers are typically researchers and practitioners who are looking for new and better ways to engage community in the work problem solving. JPRM believes strongly in the democratization of knowledge and putting an end to the gatekeeping of research and results.
