AЯGOS
University of Fribourg · Switzerland
Aims & Scope
AЯGOS is a multilingual, online journal of religious studies that aims to build bridges between the different academic cultures of Europe. The journal publishes original contributions in English, German, French, and Italian, which undergo a peer-review process. These are intended to represent, comment on, and further develop established and new perspectives in religious studies. Recent approaches from religious studies and neighboring disciplines are also to be brought into dialogue. Strong theoretical integration is expected from historical and empirical studies. AЯGOS also publishes translations of previously published programmatic contributions that can provide valuable theoretical and methodological impulses for the academic debate in religious studies. The translated contributions are supplemented by an introduction and a substantial commentary that highlight their relevance for international religious research. Reviews of books from different European language areas also serve the fundamental goal of AЯGOS to make important approaches known beyond their linguistic contexts of origin.
