El objetivo de la Revista Educación de la Universidad de Costa Rica es difundir la investigación y promover la reflexión académica referidas al campo educativo. Da cobertura a una amplia variedad temática: acceso a la educación, el derecho a la calidad, mejores aprendizajes, condiciones de la labor docente, reflexiones epistemológicas, métodos de aprendizaje, educación básica, educación formal, educación informal, género, entre otras. Se encuentra dirigida , tanto nacional como internacionalmente, a una comunidad científica, profesional y a cualquier población o individuo que se interese en su temática.
