Aims & Scope

World Nutrition (WN) is an international, peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge, informing policy development, and strengthening professional practice in public health nutrition. Published quarterly by the World Public Health Nutrition Association (WPHNA) , the journal offers a global platform for disseminating high-quality research and critical perspectives on the complex biological, social, political, economic, and environmental determinants of nutrition, health, and well-being across diverse populations. Since its establishment , World Nutrition has strengthened evidence-based nutrition interventions, shaped international policy dialogue, and promoted equitable, community-centred approaches to public health. The journal publishes original research articles, systematic and scoping reviews, policy analyses, evidence-based commentaries, methodological papers, and scholarly discussions that examine nutrition from multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives. Its scope spans local, national, regional, and global contexts in both low-income and high-income settings. World Nutrition serves a broad international community of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and advocates, including nutritionists, dietitians, public health professionals, agricultural and social scientists, epidemiologists, community health workers, humanitarian actors, and civil society organisations. The journal is firmly committed to the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, justice, and human rights and actively encourages submissions that address structural determinants of nutrition, including gender equity, socioeconomic disparities, food systems transformation, planetary health, and environmental sustainability. World Nutrition advances knowledge of the determinants, consequences, and solutions to public health and community nutrition challenges through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research that integrates biomedical, social, environmental, and policy perspectives. Key thematic areas include: Public health and community nutrition Nutrition equity, social justice, and human rights Food systems, sustainability, and planetary health Nutrition policy, governance, and program implementation Maternal, infant, child, and adolescent nutrition Gender, social determinants, and structural health inequities Indigenous, local, and community-based knowledge systems Nutrition in humanitarian, fragile, and emergency settings Neglected, climate-tolerant, and wild food sources World Nutrition publishes only human-focused research .
