Aims & Scope
The GILE Journal of Skills Development (GJSD) is an international, interdisciplinary journal examining skills development among young people and early-career adults (typically aged 18–35). It is an international, peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal dedicated to advancing research on skills, competences, and learning across educational and professional contexts . Drawing on education, psychology, sociology, economics, talent management and policy studies, it explores how young people develop capabilities for sustainable careers and employability, responsible leadership, and engaged citizenship in a rapidly changing world. GJSD provides a platform for interdisciplinary research at the intersection of education, pedagogy, and skills development, with a focus on how learning processes, educational practices, and institutional frameworks support the acquisition and application of competences in diverse social and cultural contexts. The journal also addresses the relationship between education and employability , emphasising the role of education systems in preparing individuals for evolving societal and professional challenges.
