Aims & Scope
JURNAL SMART: Journal of English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics was first published in 2015 as a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing research in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics. The journal provides a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to disseminate empirical studies, theoretical analyses, and innovative practices in language education. In 2025, JURNAL SMART achieved SINTA 4 accreditation under the Decree of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) No. 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025. This accreditation reflects the journal’s commitment to maintaining academic quality, editorial integrity, and research contribution. JURNAL SMART publishes two issues annually (January and August) and operates under a rigorous peer-review system to ensure the quality and originality of published manuscripts. JURNAL SMART welcomes original research articles, literature reviews, and theoretical papers in the following areas: English Language Pedagogy English Language Literacy English for Specific Purposes (ESP) ELT Materials Development and Evaluation English Language Testing and Assessment Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL) English Literature Language Policy and Planning Second Language Acquisition Applied Linguistics Pragmatics and Sociolinguistics Curriculum and Syllabus Design The journal particularly encourages research that demonstrates theoretical contribution, pedagogical innovation, or contextual relevance in language education and applied linguistics.
